While working at Imperial Beverage, I had the opportunity to see a vast array of beer labels. A mirco-brewery from my hometown was looking for a beer label for a new beer they were making, and my friends thought I should use my skills to create one.

It was for an orange creamsicle kettle sour. I had a lot of fun with this. I ended up creating the sketch all in one night, and then translating it into Illustrator not too long after.

The brewery ended up going with another design, but I wanted to keep this in my arsenal in case this label or illustration style better suited another project.

I was given the name Orange Smudge for this beer. The word Smudge reminded me of Smug, so I imagined a creamsicle that thought he was the bees knees, melting and soaking up his smuginess in a "hot tub". The hot tub being a big pot that home brews are typically cooked in.

After translating to Illustrator, I changed the position of the creamsicle to show the sticks. That way it was more recognizable. I then added in the rest of the type and information that was given to me from another label the brewery currently has.
